TOD PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS
The City’s departments—including the semi-autonomous HART and Board of Water Supply—work with a wide range of federal and state agency partners to implement TOD plans, policies, and projects. The federal and state governments own and manage land near the rail stations, while planning their own TOD projects as well. Listed below are key public agency partners, but we also collaborate with numerous community and advocacy organizations, as well as private sector stakeholders.
The City is also a member of the Hawaii Interagency Council for TOD, or TOD Council, which coordinates and facilitates State agency TOD planning and implementation, as well as collaborates between the State and counties on TOD initiatives. The State is the largest landowner along the rail corridor with about 2,000 acres within ½ mile of the stations, including the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District.
