The ROH is divided into chapters that are generally organized around broad subject headings such as:

• • • Traffic Code, Chapter 15;
    • Building Code, Chapter 16; and
    • Regulated Activities, Chapter 41.

Within each chapter, there are articles that are organized around subtopics. Each article contains sections that outline the specifics of the article. 

The numbering of a chapter, article, and section generally reads as three parts. For example, Section 41-21.2, is explained as: 

• • •  the chapter number is “41”
    •  the article number is “21”
    •  the section number is “2”

At the end of each section, legislative history notes are included in parentheses. The history identifies the specific source of the provisions found in that section. Amendments enacted after 1991 are included by ordinance number.
