Note: The Board may take action on any agenda item. As required by the State Sunshine Law (HRS 92), specific issues not noted on this agenda cannot be voted on, unless allowed for under HRS 92. A two-thirds (2/3) vote (5) of this 9- member Board is required to meet quorum requirements.

Chair Dean I. Hazama called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.; Quorum was established with all nine members present. Note – This nine-member Board requires five members to establish a quorum and to take official Board action.

Honolulu Police Department (HPD) – [0:05:05]: Officer Iinuma reported that residents can report abandoned vehicles (vehicles that have been parked in the exact same spot for more than 24 hours) using the Honolulu 311 app or by calling 911 non-emergencies.

Board of Water Supply (BWS) – [0:09:44]: Kathleen Elliott-Pahinui (Public Information Officer) provided the report and highlighted the following: no water main breaks in March 2024; ‘Detect-A-Leak’ Week is April 14-20, 2024; thanks to the community for their help with conservation efforts while BWS was addressing the milky water issue; BWS reservoirs are back to normal and pump unit #2 is scheduled to be replaced in the next 3 months at Mililani Wells 4.

Military Representative Report – [0:13:41]: Major Huebner reported the following: US Army Garrison Hawaii is hosting a Hiring Fair on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Honolulu Airport Hotel from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; training advisories for the month of April 2024 have been published; a prescribed burn is scheduled for Schofield Barracks between April 15-20, 2024; and introduced Lieutenant Colonel Melander as he will replacing Major Huebner as the U.S. Army Garrison representative at these meetings.

Office of Representative District 46, Amy Perruso – [0:30:52]: Due to technical difficulties, Diego Carranza provided the report and highlighted the following: increased transparency in the legislature; completed the mapping and organizing coordinators for Wahiawā regarding disaster preparedness and now working on Launani Valley; and two fire reports were recently published by the Attorney General and Maui County regarding the Maui wildfires.
