HONOLULU — The City and County of Honolulu announced Wednesday that operations at the Waialua Community Assistance Center (CAC) and the Sugar Mill Distribution Hub will be consolidated into a single facility beginning Friday, April 3, 2026, at Waialua District Park.

The CAC will continue to operate daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. within the park’s gymnasium. The supply Distribution Hub will operate in the park’s paved parking lot along Goodale Avenue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. This timetable will better serve residents and reduce traffic impacts for the nearby Waialua Elementary School. Parking for the CAC remains available in the park’s ball field.

The combined operation is designed to streamline services, improve access to critical resources, and enhance coordination among City departments and community partners. Residents will be able to pick up essential supplies at the Distribution Hub, with the CAC continuing to serve as a one-stop location for residents seeking in-person support, including: access to City services, recovery resources, and assistance from partner organizations.

“This is about making it easier for our residents to get the help they need in one place,” said Mayor Rick Blangiardi. “By bringing these operations together at Waialua District Park, we are improving coordination, strengthening our support systems, and continuing to stand with our North Shore community every step of the way as recovery moves forward.”

Additional operational updates include:

  • Honolulu Fire Department Station 14, which temporarily relocated to Waialua District Park due to flooding at its station, will return to normal operations at its firehouse beginning tomorrow, Thursday, April 2.
  • On Saturday, April 4, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., the CAC will be sharing resources with Windward North Shore residents to establish a Community Assistance Fair at the BYU Hawai‘i Gymnasium. These resources include City agencies and other area non-profit organizations. The Distribution Hub at Waialua District Park will remain open, and several Waialua CAC services will remain in place, including the free medical clinic and several non-profit agencies.
  • On Easter Sunday, all operations at Waialua District Park will be closed in observance of the holiday. This includes the CAC and Distribution Hub. Services will resume on Monday, April 5, at 10 a.m.

More CAC resource sharing opportunities are being discussed for additional locations and dates. More details about these efforts will be shared once they are confirmed.
