
HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu has issued an evacuation order for residents of ʻŌtake Camp in the Waialua area due to rising water levels and the potential for dangerous flooding conditions.
Emergency officials are actively monitoring the situation, and out of an abundance of caution, residents in the affected area are being directed to evacuate immediately to ensure their safety.
An evacuation shelter is open at Waialua High and Intermediate School. The shelter is staffed by City and partner agencies to provide temporary assistance and support.
Residents are advised to:
- Leave the evacuation area immediately
- Bring essential items, including medications, important documents, clothing, and necessary supplies
- Check on neighbors, especially kūpuna and those who may need assistance
- Follow directions from the Honolulu Police Department and emergency personnel in the area
Honolulu Police Department officers will assist with traffic control and evacuation operations. Honolulu Fire Department and Department of Emergency Management personnel remain on scene and will continue to assess conditions.
