HONOLULU — The City and County of Honolulu is maintaining full-scale recovery operations across Oʻahu. Crews are working diligently to clear debris, restore areas, and offer resources to impacted residents.

Community Assistance Center (CAC)
The CAC continues to offer support and helpful resources for those impacted by the Kona low. On Tuesday, 157 households were served, with a total of 779 assisted since opening last week Thursday.

The CAC offers a variety of services which include replacing identification and vital records, housing support, and information on disaster assistance programs. The on-site mobile clinic offers free medical assessments and treatment Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Additionally, a limited number of 7-day HOLO transit passes are available for affected Waialua residents while supplies last.

The CAC is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parking is available at Waialua District Park. Visitors are encouraged to follow posted signage for parking and shuttle information.

Support Local North Shore Businesses
Residents and visitors are encouraged to support local businesses in the North Shore area following the recent Kona low storms. Many businesses made investments to prepare for an increase in visitors during the busy spring break season, but severe weather impacted foot traffic in the area. The City is asking everyone to support local shops while also reminding those planning to visit to be respectful of the residents and neighborhoods impacted by the floods.

Waialua TheBus Update
Route 521 remains free for passengers in the Waialua and Haleʻiwa communities. Route 521 serves the CAC at Waialua District Park.

Debris Collection
As of Tuesday, March 31st, the ʻŌtake Camp and Long Bridge debris collection points are no longer accepting debris. Residents are asked to bring materials to the regular convenience centers. For locations and hours of operation, please click this link.

Debris hauling operations remain ongoing at the temporary debris storage and reduction site at Patsy T. Mink Central Oʻahu Regional Park (CORP). Yesterday, 28 loads, totaling an estimated 280 tons, were transported from CORP to the landfill, while an additional 23 loads, or roughly 60 tons, were received at CORP.

Curbside storm debris collection in Waialua will take place on Monday, April 6, 2026. This is for one day only and for Waialua residents only. Trash should be placed at the curb by Sunday evening, April 5, to ensure pickup.

Crews will conduct this collection while continuing regular operations and supporting ongoing recovery efforts. The City appreciates the community’s continued cooperation as recovery continues.

Storm Debris Dropoff For Lā‘ie Residents
The City and County of Honolulu Department of Environmental Services (ENV) will be hosting a storm debris drop-off event on Saturday, April 4, to assist residents in Lā‘ie and surrounding communities with ongoing cleanup efforts following recent severe weather.

The drop-off will take place at Brigham Young University Hawaiʻi (BYUH) parking lot in Lāʻie from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. ENV crews will have trucks on-site to collect and haul general storm debris and white goods (appliances) to help residents dispose of damaged materials. Please note that household hazardous waste will not be accepted at this event. For more information, visit honolulu.gov/env or contact ENV at (808) 768-3200.
