
HONOLULU — The City and County of Honolulu has again been named one of America’s Best Employers, earning a spot on the Forbes America’s Best Employers 2026 list. This is the second consecutive year the City has received this national recognition.
The ranking highlights Honolulu’s continued commitment to supporting its workforce and building a strong, service-driven workplace culture.
“This recognition, for the second year in a row, reflects the dedication of the people who serve our communities every day with professionalism, care, and pride,” said Mayor Rick Blangiardi. “Our workforce takes that responsibility seriously, and we are committed to providing an environment where employees feel respected, supported, and able to do work that truly matters to the people of O‘ahu.”
• City and County of Honolulu ranked #241 out of 701 employers nationwide, a jump of 175 spots from last year.
• The ranking is based on an independent survey of more than 170,000 employees across the country.
• Evaluations reflect workplace reputation, employee satisfaction, and peer feedback.
With more than 10,000 full- and part-time employees, the City is ranked in the “Large” employer category, which includes organizations with more than 5,000 employees.
In addition to this national recognition, the City and County of Honolulu has been named one of Forbes’ Best-In-State Employers for seven consecutive years, remaining the top-ranked provider of government services in Hawai‘i.
