HONOLULU — The City and County of Honolulu Department of Environmental Services (ENV) continues proactive storm preparations at the Temporary Debris Storage and Reduction (TDSR) site at Central Oʻahu Regional Park ahead of expected inclement weather.
ENV has mobilized additional resources to accelerate debris removal with contractors to clear as much material as possible before Wednesday afternoon. As of Tuesday afternoon, an estimated 250 tons of debris remains on the site.
Additional runoff control measures have been taken, including the addition of extra filtration socks designed to prevent debris and sediment runoff.
These efforts are part of the City’s ongoing commitment to safeguard the environment while supporting storm recovery efforts. Once all debris has been removed, remediation of the site will begin in coordination with environmental and regulatory partners.
The City appreciates the community’s continued patience and understanding as work progresses during this period of severe weather.
