The race organizers will coordinate with Special Duty police officers for traffic management and GP Roadway Solutions for road signage.

Department of Transportation (HDOT) – [0:23:34]: Casey Abe provided his report and highlighted the following: updates to a flashing messaging board on Vineyard Boulevard on Punchbowl Street; installation of  delineators; updates on a knocked down yield sign; new homeless encampment; updates on graffiti removal; new 50 speed limit sign on the H1 freeway; new Landscaping under the H1 viaduct; and safety concerns on Waialae Avenue and Kilauea Avenue intersection and Waialae Avenue  and Hunakai St. intersection.

Member Fujiki arrived to the meeting at (7:32 p.m.); 5 members present, quorum is established.

Council Chair Tommy Waters – [0:53:53]: Amanda Zepeda provided the report and highlighted the following: updates on community concerns asked in the previous meeting; legislative updates on Bill 50 regarding parades, resolution 25-1 regarding the vision zero plan from the Transportation Committee, Bill 52 regarding electric bicycles, and Bill 61 regarding wheelies; there was a good informational briefing on the issue of fireworks and on Transit Vacation rentals and Airbnb; Office of Housing provided an update on the City’s Housing Plan; and new leadership at the Council.

Representative Tina Grandinetti – [1:14:46]: Representative Tina Grandinetti provided the report and highlighted the following:  announced that yesterday was opening day, Grandinetti was assigned as Vice Chair of the Committee of Transportation and part of Housing and Finance; is currently working on a Bill Package relating to Housing and Transformational issues; will be co-convening the Working Families and Good Government caucus; and indirection of her staff members. Temporary Public Art Project – [1:28:19]: Executive Director Kaʻili Trask O’Connell, Marion Cadora, and Catherine Orians presented a proposed public art installation project called Wahi Pana. Wahi Pana started due to the Mayor’s Office of Culture and Arts (MOCA) receiving a 1-million-dollar grant from Bloomberg Philanthropy. Phase 1 of the project will start on February 25, 2025. For Phase 1, temporary art will be installed at Makalei Beach Park, Lēʻahi Beach Park, Fort Ruger Mini Park, and Kapeolani Community College.
