a) The request is to modify the date in Condition No. 1 of the Planning Commission’s Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law, and Decision and Order, dated June 10, 2019 for Special Use Permit No. 2008/SUP-2 from December 31, 2022 to December 31, 2024. This is the date when the Applicant is required to identify an alternative landfill site.

A. Publication of the Notice of Availability (NOA) and Draft EIS and Start of the Public Comment Period: The Army published the NOA in the Federal Register on June 7, 2024, announcing the availability of the Draft EIS and the start of the public comment period. The Draft EIS comment period began June 7, 2024 and ends on August 7, 2024. The Draft EIS will also be published in the June 8, 2024 issue of the State Environmental Review Programʻs publication, The Environmental Notice.
1. The Army encourages the public to attend the Draft EIS public meetings that will be held on Oʻahu at the following locations on the following dates and times:
a) Waiʻanae District Park Multi-Purpose Room on July 9, from 6-8 PM HST
b) Kahuku High & Intermediate School on Wednesday, July 10, from 6-8 PM HST
c) Leilehua High School on Thursday, July 11, from 6-8 PM HST
B. Next Land & Water Committee Meeting August 1, 2024 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM.
