Military Representative Report – [0:09:28]: Colonel Melander reported the following: range and jungle tactics as well as small arms blank fire will continue at East Range April 21-27 and April 28-30; the U.S Army will begin conducting a prescribed burn on Schofield Training Area Complex which was approved by the State of Hawaiʻi Department of Health Clean Air Branch and coordinated with the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service to ensure all State, Federal, and U.S Army requirements are met; the prescribed burn will take place during daylight hours and the U.S Army wildland firefighters will remain on site each night to monitor the areas. The next job fair is on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Aliamanu Military Reservation Gym from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Office of Governor Josh Green – [0:14:15]: Melanie Martin provided the report and highlighted the following from the monthly newsletter for April 2025: State Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL) awarded 790 leases in March for two projects in West Oʻahu; the State Department of Human Resources launched a recruitment initiative called Operations Hire Hawaiʻi to assist displaced federal employees and other similarly impacted individuals who have the skill sets that the State is looking for; Operation Hire Hawaiʻi will have a job fair on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and the State Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Halawa Correctional Facility has their first Kids Day for Easter.

Office of Councilmember District 2, Matt Weyer – [0:22:50]: Chelsea provided the report and highlighted the following: the next Mayor’s town hall meeting will be on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 7:00 pm at Mililani High School Cafeteria; Bill 61 relating to wheelies was signed into law; and Bill 18 relating to plastics will have a hearing in the City Council.

Office of Senator District 17, Donovan Dela Cruz – [0:24:55]: Charles Miller provided the report and highlighted the following: conference committee meetings have started at the State legislature; noted budget details for House Bill (HB) 300 Senate Draft (SD) 1 relating to the State Budget; Senator Dela Cruz attended the blessing at Mililani Mauka Elementary School; Senator Dela Cruz recognized Principal Lynn Ajifu from Mililani Ike Elementary school for being named a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School.

Office of Representative District 38, Lauren Matsumoto – [0:27:13]: Representative Matsumoto provided her report at a later time in the meeting.

Office of Representative District 46, Amy Perruso – [0:27:40]: Representative Perruso provided her report and highlighted the following: mentioned various key policies that will be moving forward in conference hearings; and expressed gratitude for her intern Annie Kuehu who successfully completed her internship at the State Capitol and noted she provided a presentation for the Keiki Caucus.

State Department of Transportation, Casey Abe – [0:34:33]: Casey Abe provided his report and highlighted the following: the landscaping crew were able to cut back on the overgrowth of trees obstructing traffic signs; the maintenance crew managed to paint over or remove graffiti; a recent field inspection was done and a work order request was submitted to replace traffic signs and landscaping to cut back on overgrowth of grass; the maintenance crew was able to partially cut back on the overgrowth of grass on the H2 freeway near the Mililani Mauka Exit and a follow-up will be done to see when their contractor will complete the grass cutting; the maintenance crew removed the damaged portion of the hand rail near the Mililiani Mauka off-ramp; and provided an update on the construction project for the Mililani Mauka Emergency Access Road.
