I. CALL TO ORDER: 6:07PM

II. COMMITTEE BUSINESS (Limited to maximum 10 Minute Presentation)

a. Approval of Nov. 20, 2024 Parks Committee Minutes (site visit to Waimea Bay Beach Park)

b. Discuss and Approve Recommendations to present to North Shore Neighborhood Board at future meeting

i. In parks where commercial activities are allowed (surf contests, movie nights, etc) fees should go to support park maintenance/infrastructure. Amount should be tied to permit. Support fees in addition to permit deposits for permits.

ii. Priorities to present to Board for support and communication to City DPR and officials:
A. DPR budget on North Shore be doubled (through suggestion above or via parking fees for non residents or other means).
B. DPR should assign dedicated maintenance staff to each park (all day, not just floating among parks or checking in periodically)
C. DPR should expand the new Park Ranger Program to North Shore Parks.
D. DPR should install signs clearly stating commercial activity is prohibited in the Parks where commercial activity is banned.

c. Schedule of future park site visits for Spring 2025

i. 2/19/2025, 7:00 AM, Kaiaka Beach Park then Kamananui Dog Park
ii. 3/12/2025, 7:00 AM, Pūpūkea Beach Park (Kapoʻo – Sharks Cove to Kalua o Maua – Three Tables)
iii. 4/16/2025, 7:00 AM, ʻEhukai Beach Park (Pipeline – if time, go to Sunset Beach Park)
iv. 5/16/2025, 6:00 PM, Waialua Community Center (Atherton Room)
