I. CALL TO ORDER: Chair Kathleen Pahinui
A. Chair Pahinui called the meeting to order at 5:03 PM
B. Members in Attendance: Pahinui, Matsumoto, Andersen, McNulty, Dahlin, Achiu, Anderson
C. Members absent: Achiu, Cuersma, Leinau
D. Guests: Dennis Poma, James Roberts and Natasha Keshishian, WAI HOME
II. COMMUNITY CONCERNS REGARDING CESSPOOLS (Limited to two (2) Minutes Each)
A. No concerns were raised
III. COMMITTEE BUSINESS (Limited to maximum 10 Minute Presentation)
A. EM Hawaii Pilot Project
• Pahinui has made contact with two individuals who can do testing.
• Look to set up a date and time to come out to Andersenʻs place.
B. Legislative Overview for 2026
• Session has opened and there are several cesspool bills. Waiting to see what will gain momentum. Follow up with Rep. Perruso.
C. Wai Home Presentation
• Natasha and James gave a presentation about their product.
• Removes solids before it goes into the cesspool.
• Change out a bin every few months – company does it for you.
• Working with Dept of Health to get approval for product.
• Will not work for every home but can be an alternative to septic or other more costly systems.
• Cost about $6,000
• Will be presenting at the North Shore NB #27 February 24 meeting.
• Andersen moved and seconded by Matsumoto to recommend that the North Shore NB #27 send a letter of support for this type of technology to the Dept of Health.

A. Approval of January 5, 2026 Meeting Minutes: Andersen moved and McNulty seconded. Motion carried.
V. ANNOUNCEMENTS
A. Next meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026 at 5:00 PM: Andersen moved and McNulty seconded to approved the minutes. Motion carried.
