Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Dry Dock Number 5 construction is going forward on schedule and Hōkūleʻa will be docked at the Pearl Harbor Rainbow Bay Marina from Saturday-Friday, January 18-24, 2025. Lydia Robertson (lydia.r.robertson.civ@us.navy.mil) highlighted upcoming public meetings, the newsletter, and the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy’s founding. Presentation and discussion from Royal Summit residents on a care home being used as a halfway house: Residents Dayle Matsushita and Claire Yim raised safety, traffic, and noise concerns about Catholic Charities Hawai‘i’s (CCH) Nā ‘Ohana Pūlama Program operating in a home purchased by Catholic Charities Hawai‘i in Royal Summit with five youth residents (ages 12-17 years old). A Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP) permit was issued to make improvements to the property and the State of Hawai‘i approved the program’s operation on that property.
