B. Discussion purpose of committee
i. Housing, Homelessness, and Parks Committee was established on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 – no prior documents to review or submit
ii. Clarification: The Parks & Recreation Committee (2023-2025) chaired by Paul Glen no longer exists
C. Chair Wood is a non-voting ex-officio. Request for Chair Wood to appoint up to six board members to serve on the committee.
D. Requesting the Board to create Permitted Interaction Group(s) (PIGs) on focused issues (https://oip.hawaii.gov/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/QR-Who-Bd-Members-Can-Talk-to-When-PART-3-2024-Final.pdf)
i. Discussion on the proposed Empty Homes Tax and establishing a PIG at the next board meeting – Ross Isokane, Housing Now! Coalition
ii. Proposed park across from the ‘Aiea Public Library and reviewing the resolution in Support of Ke Ola O ‘Aiea ‘Ohana Park – Daniel Dinell and Claire Tamamoto
