RULES OF PARTICIPATION: Anyone wishing to speak, please raise your hand. After recognition, address your comments to the Chair. Comments must relate to the current agenda item. If participating online, please mute yourself when not speaking and use the “raise hand” feature in the participants panel if you want to speak. Remember to unclick, or lower, your hand afterwards. By board rules, audience and board members can have up to 2 turns to speak on each topic. Those speaking should be concise and limit comments to 1 minute per turn. Each report is limited to 3 minutes and each presentation is limited to 5 minutes. As required by the State Sunshine Law (HRS 92), specific issues not listed on this agenda cannot be voted on, unless added to the agenda by a two-thirds vote (9) of this 13-member Board.
Speakers shall confine their remarks to the subject under discussion and shall avoid lengthy or repetitive statements. The presiding officer may call a speaker to order if comments become irrelevant, even if the speaker is within their allocated time. Presentation on the Early Eviction Mediation Program – [1:14:26]: Roberta Hickey-Gomez (The Mediation Center of the Pacific) presented on an early eviction mediation program. The program aims to support both landlords and tenants in resolving housing disputes early before they escalate to eviction proceedings. The Mediation Center is committed to fostering open communication and helping individuals reach mutually beneficial agreements. The program has achieved a 90% agreement rate over the past two years, which has helped many tenants remain in their homes and landlords continue receiving rental income. Ala Wai Bridge Project (Ala Pono) – [2:16:48]: Resident Laura Ruby shared her opposition to the “Ala Pono” name for the Ala Wai Bridge and asked the City to ask Hawaiian experts about the use of the term “pono.”

Resident Questionnaire – [2:17:45]: Minerbi would like to prepare a questionnaire for residents about issues and priorities for the McCully-Mōʻiliʻili neighborhood. Chair Lee will add this topic to the April 2025 meeting agenda.
