Repair efforts underway following force main break at Pacific Palisades

HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu Department of Environmental Services (ENV) is responding to a force main break at the Pacific Palisades Pump Station located at 1925 Lanikeha Place.

The break occurred at approximately 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10 while crews were on site. Response efforts began immediately to contain the spill and control wastewater flows to the pump station in order to take the force main out of service. The spill was fully contained by 11:45 a.m. C­­rews are currently diverting wastewater flows and trucking them from the area while repairs are underway. The cause of the break is under investigation.

ENV crews remain on site and will continue repairs in accordance with established response protocols. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

ENV has posted warning signs in the area. The State Department of Health has been notified and water sampling has been waived at this time.
