Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off:

For more information about household hazardous waste, visit our household hazardous waste page. Drop-off dates are scheduled every two months. Please have a list ready to include the type of product, container size and quantity of material before scheduling an appointment.  There is a 12-item limit and only items registered will be accepted on the day of the event.  The city and/or the city’s contractor  reserve the right to deny any waste not registered for the drop-off event.

Tour de Trash:

If you’ve ever been interested in learning what happens to your household “trash” after it’s been picked up or you’ve dropped it off for recycling or composting, Tour de Trash is definitely for you. Tour participants will get an up-close look at the recycling and waste processing technology in operation on Oahu and behind-the-scenes tours of island businesses that have instituted the most successful recycling programs. E-waste and Recycling Drop-off Events:

The 3Rs School Recycling Drives and Going Green community recycling drives are free to the public and accept a variety of household items and residential e-waste. For additional e-waste recycling options, visit our e-waste recycling page.

3Rs School Recycling Drives (formerly "Aloha Aina"):

Events are hosted by the Kokua Hawaii Foundation at Oahu schools from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with proceeds going to the host school. Residential waste only – no commercial materials. Visit the Kokua Hawaii Foundation site to view the event calendar. For more information and acceptable items, email 3rs@kokuahawaiifoundation.org.

Going Green Recycling Drives:

E-waste drop-off is for residents only. Businesses and schools may schedule separate e-waste pick-ups. All other acceptable household items can be dropped off by businesses and residents.
