| Rechargeable and Single-Use Standalone Lithium, Nickel Cadium, Nickel Metal Hydride, AA, AAA, C and D type Batteries | Drop off standalone rechargeable and single-use lithium, lithium-ion, NiMH, and NiCad batteries to any city convenience center or transfer station. Please tape the terminals and place in a clear plastic bag. You can drop-off these types of batteries at city Drop-off Convenience Centers and Transfer Stations. |
| Embedded Batteries | Batteries that are not designed to be removed and are still inside or attached to the device. Schedule to drop-off in one of the city’s HHW drop-off events. Before calling, please take a moment to get an estimate of the total device weight. |
| Car and motorcycle | Retailers are required by law to accept your old battery when you purchase a new replacement. For excess auto batteries, call a battery recycler or ask battery retailers if they accept additional batteries for recycling. Alternatively, you can drop-off old batteries at city Drop-off Convenience Centers and Transfer Stations. |
