ENV announces closure of transfer stations to the public in response to severe weather

HONOLULU — The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Environmental Services (ENV) announced Friday that refuse transfer stations across the island are temporarily closed to the public due to a downed utility pole fronting the H-POWER facility.

The following transfer stations are closed to the public until further notice:

Kapaʻa Transfer Station

Kawailoa Transfer Station in Haleiwa

Keʻehi Transfer Station in Honolulu

Convenience centers also remain closed to the public due to severe weather.

Residents planning to dispose of excess green waste, as well as any household refuse, bulky items or other materials, are advised to wait until the convenience centers and transfer stations reopen.

Curbside Collection

Regular curbside collection of gray, blue and green carts continues on its normal schedule unless otherwise announced.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updates at honolulu.gov/env, follow ENV on social media and sign up for notifications through HNL Alert.

ENV appreciates the public’s patience as we prioritize safety during this time.
