City to deploy emergency storm debris collection crews in Waialua on April 6

HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu announced today that emergency curbside storm debris collection crews will be deployed to Waialua on Monday, April 6, 2026.

To ensure pickup, residents impacted by the recent storms are asked to place all remaining storm debris at the curb no later than Sunday evening, April 5. This scheduled collection will allow crews to complete emergency pickups while continuing regular operations and supporting long-term recovery efforts.

We recognize that many in our community are still recovering, and we appreciate everyone’s continued efforts to safely clear debris. This one-day collection is for Waialua residents only.

Additional Pickup Guidelines:

  • Separate white goods (appliances) from general disaster debris.
  • Place debris in accessible locations along the street.
  • Do not block roadways, sidewalks, or drainage systems.
  • Keep debris separated into two piles to avoid delays.
  • Organic waste, including spoiled food, must be placed in the gray refuse cart and not left on the street.
  • Do not place hazardous materials out for collection. To dispose of Household Hazardous Waste, call 808-768-3201 to schedule an appointment. The next HHW drop-off date will be May 2, 2026. More information on HHW can be found on our website.

Residents are reminded not to place regular household rubbish or food waste in curbside piles, as it may attract pests. These materials should be placed inside gray refuse carts for regular collection.

Residents may also take storm debris and bulky items to City transfer stations or convenience centers. The locations nearest to Waialua are:
