General Election – November 3, 2026

ELECTIONS CONDUCTED IN HAWAII

Hawaii holds combined federal, state, and local elections in even numbered years. The City and County of Honolulu holds special elections to fill vacancies in City elective offices. Hawaii does not conduct a presidential primary election.

VOTE-BY-MAIL

The State of Hawaii transitioned to the Vote-by-mail election model starting with the 2020 Elections. Traditional Election Day polling places are no longer established. Under the Vote By Mail election model, all active registered voters are sent a ballot by mail. Ballots may be cast by returning the voted mail via postal mail or at one of the City’s 16 drop boxes.

IN-PERSON VOTING

In-person voting can be done at any Voter Service Center, open 10 business days prior to the last day of the election.
