ABOUT US
The Office of the City Clerk is an agency in the legislative branch of the City and County of Honolulu. The Honolulu Elections Division provides direct voter services including voting by mail, Voter Service Centers, voter registration and absentee voting.
The Honolulu Elections Division plays a vital role in conducting elections for the City and County of Honolulu. We handle tasks such as registering voters, maintaining the voter registration database, and updating address and district information. Our team verifies signatures on candidate and initiative petitions, issues nomination papers, and mails absentee ballots. We also accept and process returned ballots and operate Voter Service Centers to assist voters. In addition to election services, the Office of the City Clerk accepts financial disclosure filings from candidates and City employees. We also provide clerical support to the Honolulu City Council, helping ensure smooth legislative operations.
Our services cover the entire City and County of Honolulu, which includes the whole island of Oʻahu. Honolulu is the largest county in Hawaiʻi, with a population of over 900,000 residents.
