Baggage and Luggage Rules for Skyline:
The following baggage and luggage rules apply for TheBus and Skyline:
Each passenger may bring one standard medium suitcase bag and one smaller carry-on size bag, or a carry-on sized backpack (no metal frame) at no extra charge.
Both items must be carried and stowed by the passenger (i.e., boarded in one trip) and must fit under or in front of the passenger’s seat, or on the floor between feet or on the passenger’s lap.
The bags must not block aisles, occupy extra seats, or interfere with the comfort or safety of other passengers.
Riders with luggage and bags should be ready to get off the trains with their belongings in hand, before the train arrives at the station of departure.
Animals:
Service Animals are permitted.
Small animals must be placed in a cage or carrier that can be put under the seat or on the passenger’s lap without inconvenience to other passengers.
Under Department of Transportation (DOT) Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations at 49 C.F.R. Section 37.3, “service animal” is defined as “any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal individually trained to work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability, including, but not limited to, guiding individuals with impaired vision, alerting individuals with impaired hearing to intruders or sounds, providing minimal protection or rescue work, pulling a wheelchair, or fetching dropped items.” DOT ADA regulation 49 C.F.R. Section 37.167(d) requires transit entities to permit service animals to accompany individuals with disabilities in vehicles and facilities. Appendix D to Section 37.167 contains further important information on service animals. It is important to note that while the U.S. Department of Justice has amended the definition of “service animal” for purposes of its ADA regulations under Titles II and III of the ADA, for state and local governments and places that are open to the public, the definition under DOT ADA regulations for transportation has not changed. Therefore, members of the public may find that some service animals may no longer be considered service animals once they leave a transportation system.
Food and Drink:
Consuming open food and drink are prohibited on Skyline trains and stations, and TheBus, to help maintain a clean and safe environment for all riders.
Passengers may carry food and beverages only if they are properly sealed, covered, or packaged to minimize the risk of spills or leaks.
City ordinance prohibits consuming any form of food or beverage or carrying or possessing any food or beverage in a container other than a container that is tightly closed, covered or packaged so as to minimize the possibility of accidental spillage when the container is shaken or dropped.

The use of any audio, video, gaming, or communication device aboard buses, trains, and at Skyline stations is prohibited unless operated with headphones, earbuds, or a headset in a manner that is not audible to others.
