HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Transportation Services (DTS) announced Monday the start of the Happy HOLO Days! campaign, launched to increase the awareness of public transportation during the busy holiday shopping season.

DTS would like to remind residents and visitors that traveling to local shopping malls and businesses does not always require a personal vehicle. TheBus and Skyline are able to reach major malls and destinations around the island and are an easy way to avoid dealing with traffic congestion or parking.

The three new “HOLO Days” HOLO card designs available now for the holiday season

With the Happy HOLO Days campaign comes three new HOLO card designs to celebrate the holiday season! These three designs are inspired by the spirit of the holidays, and DTS encourages the gift of transportation by gifting loved ones, friends or colleagues HOLO cards, allowing them to ride TheBus or Skyline whenever they want. Whether someone is a regular transit rider or just wants to have another option to get around, loaded HOLO cards make perfect stocking stuffers.

These new HOLO card designs are available at participating 7-Eleven and Foodland stores, JCB Plaza Lounge in Waikīkī, and at the Hālawa Aloha Stadium Skyline station. Be sure to collect them all!

This is the second round of seasonal HOLO card designs that DTS has made available to the public, with the first being the launch of Skyline in June. Specialty HOLO cards are available while supplies last.

DTS would also like to remind everyone to please be safe this holiday season. There are a lot more cars and pedestrians on the roadways, and everyone should be able to traverse safely. Please drive responsibly. Look out for each other on our roadways, and please have patience and drive with aloha. Have a designated driver to take guests home. TheBus and Skyline make perfect designated drivers too!
