5/12/2025 UPDATE: The Honolulu Recreational Community Gardening Program has completed the revision process for the new Rules & Regulations. This concludes the public engagement process, outlined on this page.
Below you will find the public hearing recording and testimony, the previous 1984 Amended Rules, and supplemental material that walks the reader through what changes that were proposed and the community engagement process. You will also find three recordings of virtual calls held with community garden officers and gardeners where we discussed the changes and fielded questions and input.

Public Hearing Testimony
An in-person and virtual public hearing was held on Tuesday, January 28th. The recording is available at https://youtu.be/9ayg1pKfv0I.
To read the testimony provided both during the public hearing and in writing, see the table provided below. This table also provides our recommendations in response to each testifier.
An in-person and virtual public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Foster Botanical Garden’s Conservatory Classroom located within the historic 14-acre garden at 180 N. Vineyard Blvd. in Downtown Honolulu. The virtual meeting will be held via Zoom, and can be accessed using the following link: bit.ly/gardenhearing
If you are unable to attend the meeting, or wish to present additional comments, written testimony will be accepted no later than one week after the public hearing on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Please mail that testimony to:
