Honolulu Recreational Community Gardening Program

Garden List and Locations

There are 11 community garden sites in the City’s program. While they are all similarly within the allotment style, many differ in their microclimate, size, shape and character. Please see the list below for locations, meeting times, and costs (fees include membership dues and City user fees).

If you are seeking a plot that complies with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), contact us or visit the Foster Community Garden (information below).

Ala Wai Community Garden

Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month at 6pm at the Ala Wai Neighborhood Park Pavilion at the end of University Avenue. Check garden bulletin board for updated information.

Diamond Head Community Garden

Monthly meetings alternate between second Saturday mornings at 9am and second Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm, at the garden. Check garden bulletin board for updated information.

Dole Community Garden

Foster Community Garden

Note: gardening hours are restricted to when the botanical garden is open, 9am to 4pm, closed Christmas Day (December 25) closed New Year’s Day (January 1).

Hawai'i Kai Community Garden

Kāne‘ohe Community Garden

Makiki Community Garden

Mānoa Community Garden

Mō‘ili‘ili Community Garden

Mutual Lane Community Garden

📍 At the end of Mutual Lane near 1710 Mutual Lane.

Wahiawā Community Garden

📍 On Kamehameha Highway across Wheeler Army Airfield

Monthly meetings are every last Saturday of the month at 8:30am in-person at the garden. No meeting in December due to the holidays. Gardeners are required to come to the meeting early to sign-in due to the large number of gardeners attending. Check garden bulletin board for updated information. * Note that there are some special rules at this location due to proximity of U.S. Army Air Field
