Important Information for all DOE schools, including Hawaii Public Charter Schools
Dear Hawaii State Department of Education schools and offices,
For any public school-related activities (otherwise known as “DOE Type I Sponsored Activities”), you must get approval through the Department of Education’s online C&C use of facilities application. Please be advised there are quarterly deadlines, so please plan ahead:
- Call the Garden to check for date availability. Select rain dates as well.
- We will help you with our Garden permitting process.
- Fill out a field trip request form on the Department of Education’s online C&C use of facilities application database.
Please note that your school or office is applying to indemnify the County. The Department of Education’s online C&C use of facilities application is not a reservation database. - Forward your indemnity approval to the Garden to complete a permit.
If you have questions about the Hawaii State Public School indemnification and approval process, please contact the Department of Education, Facilities Development Branch, at 808-784-5040 or send an email to use_of_facilities@hawaiidoe.org.
Hawaii State Public Charter Schools, please inquire with the Hawaii State Public Charter School Commission office for instructions regarding requests to indemnify the County for charter school activities.
