Laukahi Slopes Mini Park is scheduled to close for three weeks as part of a community wildfire mitigation effort to clear fire-prone vegetation along the mountainside.
The closure is scheduled from Monday, April 13 until Monday, May 3, 2026 for the 3.34-acre mini park, located on Laukahi Street on Wai‘alae Iki Ridge.
During the closure, volunteers and community members working with the Wai‘alae Iki Ridge Community Association will assist with the clearing of invasive vegetation such as haole koa, guinea grass, and California grass.
This work is part of the community association’s Firewise Program. More information about this effort can be found online at: https://wirca.org/wirca-firewise-program/
Mahalo to park users, volunteers, and the community association for their participation in this effort, and their patience while the park is closed for the clearing of vegetation.
