Summer Fun 2026 registration begins May 11, program begins June 8

From keiki to kūpuna, Wai‘anae to Waimānalo, a season full of amazing recreation and educational opportunities is available for you this summer in your City parks and gardens!
The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Parks and Recreation is proud to announce registration for Summer Fun 2026, the City’s most popular keiki program, will begin May 11 – May 15, with enrichment class registration for participants of all ages from May 18 – May 22, 2026 based on where your program is located.
Sign-ups for Summer Fun and seasonal classes are primarily conducted online, through the “Activities” section of the Parks and Recreation Online System (pros.hnl.info), though walk-in accommodations are available.
Summer Fun
The 2026 Summer Fun Program is scheduled to run weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., from June 8 through July 24 (not including holidays on June 11 and July 3). There are 57 sites across O‘ahu, with select Summer Fun locations offering Summer Plus, which provides activities before and/or after the regular program at an additional cost. Registration will be conducted based on the district where the site is located, using the following timetable:
- District 1 (Ka Iwi to Waikīkī): May 11 from 5 p.m.
- District 2 (Makiki to ‘Aiea): May 12 from 5 p.m.
- District 3 (Waipahū to Kea‘au): May 13 from 5 p.m.
- District 4 (Makapu‘u to Mokulē‘ia): May 14 from 5 p.m.
- District 5 (Pearl City to Whitmore): May 15 from 5 p.m.
DPR is also privileged to participate in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The 2026 SFSP is sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture and will be available to Summer Fun participants 18 years and younger in qualified areas. Summer Fun Jobs

Summer Fun’s success also relies on the support of our volunteer Junior Leaders, with over 1,200 Junior Leaders in our program last year. Summer Fun is an affordable, city-operated, seasonal day camp where children are engaged in learning experiences in a fun and safe environment. These opportunities help build on soft skills, which promote leadership and future educational and lifelong success. DPR aims to accommodate approximately 10,000 keiki and teens through this remarkable program each year, with registration costing no more than $125 per kid, excluding Summer Plus (contracted keiki care before and after the regular program). Summer Enrichment Programs
Separate seasonal classes and activities, commonly referred to as enrichment classes, will also be offered at parks and gardens around O‘ahu this summer! This includes popular classes like learn to swim, basketball, and dancing.
Registration for both free and paid classes will be conducted online utilizing the same pros.hnl.info software and geographical park district scheduling with the following timeline.
- Honolulu Botanical Gardens: May 15 from 9 a.m.
- District 1 (Ka Iwi to Waikīkī): May 18 from 5 p.m.
- District 2 (Makiki to ‘Aiea): May 19 from 5 p.m.
- District 3 (Waipahū to Kea‘au): May 20 from 5 p.m.
- District 4 (Makapu‘u to Mokulē‘ia): May 21 from 5 p.m.
- District 5 (Pearl City to Whitmore): May 22 from 5 p.m.
For those who are unable to sign up online, accommodations can be made for in-person registration. Walk-in registration will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the District Offices on the above-mentioned dates. Unsure which district your park is located in? In 2025, DPR offered 3,552 different classes, programs, and events through our online reservation system, with over 82% of those opportunities completely free!
