Applications for the 2027 South Shore Surf Season are due by Friday, May 29, 2026 at 4 p.m. (HST). For the North Shore, applications are due on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 4 p.m. (HST).
The South Shore Surf Season runs from May 1, 2027 – September 30, 2027, with the North Shore Triennial Calendar running from September 1, 2027 – May 31, 2030.
The Triennial Calendar System for organizing North Shore Surf Events first began in Fall 2018 for surfing events held at Sunset Beach Park, ‘Ehukai Beach Park (Pipeline), Waimea Bay Beach Park, and Hale‘iwa Ali‘i Beach Park.
Revised Shore Water Event Rules in 2024 established specific requirements for surf events on O‘ahu’s South Shore. These rules provide a transparent process on how applications will be ranked through clearly described criteria. Those criteria include plans to mitigate the impact of surf events on the community, and how event organizers will encourage diversity amongst their participants.
