Temporary Permits
Temporary permits are for tent or similar structures used for religious/commercial purposes such as:
- Special Amusement Events of Buildings
- Haunted Houses
- Festivals
- Bon Dance
- Christmas Tree Sale
- Firework Sales
- Any event that may use water, electricity, fuel storage, fire department connection, use of outdoor sound system or access to the property.
Structure or Events 7 days or less.
If an event is 7 days or less, you may apply for an instant online permit. Please ensure that the event/structure is not altering an existing structure and there are no open temporary permits on the property when applying otherwise you will need to submit for a standard temporary permits.
How It Works:
Step 1: Check Existing Permits
Verify there are no open temporary permits at the location. If any are open, please notify the inspector that conditions were restored.

Permit will be issued instantly at the end of the application process
Step 4: Initial Inspection
Call for inspection prior to the event for completion of event setup.
Step 5: Event
Enjoy a safe event.
Step 6: Close Permit
After event is complete, restore to existing conditions prior to the temporary event. And call for inspection to close the permit.

Permit Submittal
- Provide a plot plan, any existing structure and location and use of temporary structures/tents.
- Provide and upload Contractor Statement as required.
Structures or Events 8 - 30 days.
Ideally these temporary permit applications should be submitted at least 10 weeks prior to the event.
Include in the scope of work duration of the temporary event/structure.
How It Works:
Step 2: Route Plans
Based on the information provided on the application, DPP will determine agencies that require review. The applicant shall route the plans for approvals from the agencies.
Step 3: Permit Issuance
Submit all approvals to DPP along with the permit fee. After all documentation is verified, the temporary permit will be issued.
Step 4: Initial Inspection
Call for inspection prior to the event for completion of event setup.
Step 5: Event
Enjoy a safe event.
Step 6: Close Permit
After event is complete, restore to existing conditions prior to the temporary event. And call for inspection to close the permit.
