Relocation Permits
Relocation permits are required to move an existing structure from one parcel to another. Prior to submitting an application, verify that you are qualified to relocate the structure. (Note: A relocation will consists of 3 building permits – Relocation From, Relocation To, Alteration. Once building permits have been issued, the relocation shall be completed within 120 days.)
Do I Qualify?
Submit a plot plan with the floor plan of the structure along with the Request for Relocation Inspection Form.
After submission, a Building Inspector will verify if the structure is recommended for relocation. (If the structure is deteriorated or the extent of repair exceeds 50% of the cost of replacement, the relocation request will be denied.)
How It Works:
Required Documents to be Submitted with Plans:
- Relocation Inspection Form (Inspector will provide a copy indicating that structure may be relocated)
- Police Escort
- Deed or Agreement of Sale if Owner does not match Tax Office Records
- $1000 cash deposit, certified for cashier’s check shall be deposited with the Department of Planning and Permitting, One-Stop Permit Center, unless moving contractor has deposited a revolving fund of $2,000 for this purpose.
- Application for Refund of Relocation Security Deposit
