Accessing ePlans
Once you login to ePlans, you be able to access and interact with all projects you are associated with based on your role.
Roles:
- Applicant: The individual who submitted the building permit application and identified themselves as the point person for the job. The applicant is the person that will be in contact with DPP regarding the permit application, uploads associated plans, and officially submits documents and responses to comments.
- Applicant (View Only): These individuals are added by the Applicant when they have an available task. A view only applicant has the ability to see project status, all plans submitted, comments, routings etc. However, they are not able to upload or submit any information. All changes must go through the applicant.
- Reviewer: A reviewer is given a task and uses the tools to review and mark up the submitted files. The review is then complete once the reviewer completes their task with an outcome.
Forgot Password
If you are unable to login as you forgot your password, you may now reset your password yourself. You will need access to your email and the ePlans website:
Inviting Other Applicants
The applicant when they have a task to complete, may add other users who would like to view the project. These viewers may not perform any task but are able to view all items uploaded and any comments.
Project Status
Applicants or view only applicants may view the project status at anytime of the project. The status screen lets the users know what tasks are outstanding, when the task was routed, accepted and completed and the outcome of the review.
How to View and Respond to Comments
After a review is complete, the applicant will receive a task if changes are required. Within the task, there is a way to retrieve the comments in an excel format and reupload the responses. Otherwise you may view and respond to comments as shown in the video. In order to resubmit, all unresolved comments are required to have a response. A plan change is required if there is a changemark on the plan shown by a red pencil mark. The file must be uploaded with the same exact name to version otherwise the submittal will be rejected.
Videos Provided by ePlans
ePlans provides help videos directly on the task to explain how that particular task may be done. See video below on accessing the ePlans help videos. (Note: some videos have a dropdown and the user shall select the appropriate video).
