Design Advisory Committee
Responsibilities
The Design Advisory Committee is established in Section 21-9.20-5 of the City and County of Honolulu’s zoning code – the Land Use Ordinance (Revised Ordinances of Honolulu Chapter 21). The Director of the DPP appoints the members, who provide design input to the Director on significant proposals within the island of Oahu’s special districts. The committee hears proposals for Major Special District Permits and advises the Director based on the purposes, objectives, and design controls of the special district in question (which are also established in Article 9 of the Land Use Ordinance).
Members
The committee must consist of a minimum of 7 members, to include 2 architects, 2 landscape architects, 2 urban planners, and an officer of the Department of Land and Natural Resources State Historic Preservation Division (SHPD). The current members are:
