City seeks development partner for major affordable housing community in Royal Kunia
The property represents a rare suburban infill opportunity in Central Oʻahu, offering both the scale and the setting to help meet the urgent demand for affordable housing. Located at the corner of Kupuohi Street and Kupuna Loop, the site includes approximately 120,000 square feet for new affordable homes (Lot C-2-A) and a companion parcel reserved for a future child care facility. Its location next to the Royal Kunia park-and-ride provides direct access to TheBus network and convenient connections to Skyline rail.

City secures new headquarters for Department of Community Services at 222 North School Street
The City has completed the purchase of 222 North School Street, establishing a new permanent headquarters for the Department of Community Services (DCS). Previously owned by the Atherton Family Foundation and leased to Central Pacific Bank as its Operations Center, the property was sold to the City for $12,000,000 and will now be repurposed as a centralized hub for DCS, the agency responsible for addressing homelessness, workforce training, and grants administration.

CWNL team travels to Rally 2025 to enhance stewardship of Oʻahu’s cultural and ecological lands
Members of Honolulu’s Clean Water and Natural Lands (CWNL) team joined conservation leaders from across the country at Rally 2025 in Cleveland, Ohio. The insights they brought home — from data sovereignty to community-driven stewardship — will help strengthen how CWNL protects Oʻahu’s cultural and ecological lands for future generations.

City lands support kupuna housing as EAH Housing begins lease-up
DHLM staff joined EAH Housing on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 for a site tour of Aloha Ia Halewiliko, a new senior affordable rental community in ʻAiea. Staff from DHLM’s Development, Finance, and Land Transactions divisions visited the site to see first-hand the progress of a project they have worked diligently to move forward over the past several years.
