Request DEM Support of a Disaster Education or Preparedness Event
DEM may be available to support your event. Events can be open to to the general public or limited to members of your organization. Requests must be made 2 weeks in advance. Click here to make a request.
Types of activities DEM can support include:
- Staffing a table or booth at community fairs or events to share preparedness information
- Providing online or in-person educational presentations on disaster preparedness. Topics can focus on general individual and family readiness, or can be targeted to address a certain hazard or a specific group such as seniors, youth or businesses.
- Attending a community meeting or panel discussion
Please note when planning your event that DEM resources will be diverted if a disaster or emergency occurs and last minute cancelation is possible.

Hosting a disaster preparedness event that won’t require DEM support but you’d like to share with the community? Click here to request your event be added to the calendar. Events will appear once DEM has reviewed and approve the request.
