Chief of Facilities Division

The Department of Design and Construction (DDC) is looking for a Chief of Facilities Division in Honolulu. Supervising Building Construction Inspector

This position supervises, directs and coordinates the inspection of all phases of construction of public structures and buildings, park recreational facilities, and renovation/restoration/redesign of grounds and appurtenances to assure that the materials, workmanship, and finished product are in compliance with approved plans, specifications, contractual documents, established standards, pertinent rules and regulations, and laws. Senior Building Construction Inspector

Civil Engineer VI

responsible for supervising the performance of construction work for various Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects assigned to the Field Construction Section B. The Civil Engineer VI assists the Branch Chief in coordination and oversight of the various facets of construction activities and compliance for construction projects involving infrastructure projects including improvement districts, roadways, sidewalks, drainage, flood control, earth movement, rock falls, bridge and other structures, and ADA compliance in accordance with contract documents and established policies, procedures, and standards. Learn more about the Civil Engineer VI position

Mechanical Engineer V

Oversees and executes complex professional engineering tasks, including supervising and contributing to the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems. Engineering Technician III

This position performs difficult and complex technical functions in support of professional engineering activities including database management of existing street lights, maintaining inventory of all City equipment on jointly owned utility poles with HECO, review and approve trenching permits in City roads, gathering as-built data for CIP projects, and emergency response planning. Land Surveyor 1

Using Computer-Aided Drafting (CADD) and Coordinate Geometry (COGO) software to create sketches, maps, and worksheets for land acquisition, disposal, and appraisal. Responsibilities include performing area computations, adjusting triangulations, and calculating coordinate positions for parcels and subdivisions. Soil and Material Testing Technician IV
