HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Design and Construction will begin parking lot lighting improvements at ʻEwa Villages Golf Course. The project will replace 30-year-old high-pressure sodium pole light assemblies with energy-efficient LED fixtures, along with upgrades to supporting electrical infrastructure.

Once complete, the improvements will provide brighter, higher-quality illumination, reduced energy consumption and operating costs, and enhanced safety, reliability, and future flexibility of the site’s electrical system.

Construction is expected to begin on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, and be completed in September. Work days and hours are expected to run Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (excluding holidays). The project will be completed in phases, resulting in temporary partial closures of the parking lot as each phase is completed. ‘Ewa Villages Golf Course will not be directly impacted by the construction work and will remain open for daily public play.

Project Phases:

Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3
April – May May-July July – August

The project, valued at $1.3 million, will be completed by Jack Endo Electric Inc.
