HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Design and Construction is notifying the public that the previously announced archaeological survey has been postponed until further notice due to impending weather conditions, as heavy rains, gusty winds, and thunderstorms, forecast for Wednesday through Friday.

The work started on April 6 and was scheduled through Thursday, April 30, 2026. The survey will be rescheduled once weather conditions improve. The pause in trenching activities is necessary to limit subgrade exposure and protect the site from the elements.

The Department of Design and Construction appreciates the community’s patience and will provide advanced notice when the project resumes.

Questions and comments may be directed to the City and County of Honolulu, Department of Design and Construction, at (808) 768-8400.
