Our Positions

WorkHawaiʻi Iwilei – 680 Iwilei Road, Suite 700

Starting Annual Salary: $59,532

As a Community Services Specialist, you’ll work directly with kūpuna in our community who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, looking for stable housing. This is a case-management role, balancing compassion with diligence. You will work one-on-one with individuals, connecting them with wrap-around services, and checking in with them regularly to verify their needs are being met and their unit is well cared for. You’ll also be part of a team that shares information, and maintains up to date databases and records of case management activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Helping People One-on-One: You’ll meet with individuals to learn about their skills, goals, and challenges with regard to their housing needs.
  • Creating Personal Action Plans: Once you understand their needs, you’ll work with them to create a plan—like learning money management skills, getting into other housing programs, or connecting with support services like elder care, accessibility needs, and transportation help.
  • Staying Connected: You’ll be on site, keeping in touch with each person to make sure they’re making progress and help them if things change along the way.
  • Keeping Records: You’ll help keep track of each person’s progress by writing case notes and filling out forms to meet program guidelines.
  • Supporting the Team: You’ll also help with everyday tasks like writing reports or following up with other programs, housing providers, and partners.

What You Bring to the Table

  • You enjoy helping others and making a difference in people’s lives,  especially kūpuna.
  • You’re a good listener and communicator—you can talk to people from all walks of life.
  • You’re organized and can keep track of details, even when things get busy.
  • You’re comfortable using a computer and basic office tools.
  • You’re the kind of person who follows through and sees things to the end.
  • Bonus if you’ve worked in social services, employment programs, or customer service – but we’re happy to train the right person.
