HONOLULU – To assist residents who need to replace or renew driver’s licenses and state identification cards damaged in recent storms, the City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Customer Services will open the Wahiawā Driver Licensing Center on Saturday, April 18.

Limited walk-in services will be available Saturday on a first-come, first-served basis at the Wahiawā Driver Licensing Center, 330 N. Cane St., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for processing duplicate driver’s license or state identification card applications, as well renewing a driver’s license that was lost or damaged in the March and April storms.

The special weekend hours are a direct response to the Department of Customer Services recognizing that a valid driver’s license or state identification card is essential for filing insurance claims, accessing disaster relief funds, and securing temporary housing.

“We know residents are dealing with immense loss and want to ensure that obtaining a replacement identification is the easiest part of their rebuilding process,” said Department of Customer Services Director Kim Hashiro, who oversees driver licensing centers and satellite city halls in the City and County of Honolulu.

The special weekend service at the Wahiawā Driver Licensing Center is limited to walk-in, storm-recovery customers only. The fee for obtaining a duplicate driver’s license is $6. The fee for renewing an 8-year driver’s license or state ID is $40.
