Bicycle Registration
The City and County of Honolulu has almost 3.5 miles of protected bike lanes for residents to make their way around the island’s urban core on a bike. Biking enthusiasts on Oahu have benefitted from protected bike lanes designed to ensure that cyclists can enjoy safer rides on their commute or biking excursions. With the city planning to expand biking opportunities by adding a bike lane on more roads, here’s what you need to know about registering your bike with the City and County of Honolulu.
Bicycle Registration Fees
- $30 for an electric bicycle (E-Bike) – when registering electric bicycles, you must indicate the watts on the application.
An electric bicycle, as defined under Hawaiʻi Revised Statues §291C-1, means a two- or three-wheeled vehicle with fully operable pedals and an electric motor of no more than 750 watts.
- $15 for a pedal bicycle

Affidavit of Ownership
Registration application CS-L(SS)41B (also available at any Satellite City Hall) requires information on the bicycle: make, year, color, serial number, body type, number of speeds, and wheel size.
Bicycles can be registered or transferred by making an AlohaQ appointment at any Satellite City Hall or at the Kapalama Driver Licensing Center (Window 17, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – Noon), or by mail:
