Plans, coordinates, implements, monitors and administers a comprehensive laboratory quality assurance program that defines the procedures, practices, methods, systems and audit process for ensuring and independently validating that the water samples collected, field tests performed, analysis performed on the samples collected and the analytical test results produced by and in the laboratories are technically sound, correct, defensible and consistently of high quality. Identifies and monitors critical analytical laboratory test method control points. Establishes critical quality limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, preventative measures and verification procedures. Writes and periodically updates all laboratory testing method, sample collection and field-testing quality assurance procedures. Plans and conducts surveillance audits on the implementation of all laboratory testing, water sample collection and field-testing procedures, practices and methods by the staff. Ensures the samples collected and the various water tests performed are in accordance with the laboratory’s standard operating procedure (SOP).
Recommended Requirements:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, physical science, or other closely related field of science
Experience:
Three (3) years of professional experience in a testing laboratory analyzing water samples in accordance with quality control procedures and protocols specified by the test method.
