Under the general supervision of the Community Services Specialist V, the HONU Community Service Worker is responsible for fulfilling the following job duties:

  • Conduct daily checks of onsite equipment to ensure proper use and notify shift leads of any equipment issues.

  • Assist Community Services Specialists in the following, but are not limited to: conducting routine participant bag checks of personal items each time upon entry/reentry onto site; provide new participants a tour of the site which would include identifying off limit areas and engaging participants in becoming familiar with the program; assists Community Services Specialists with discharges of participants as necessary.

  • Assists with manual labor tasks, conducts checks, and maintains sanitation and cleanliness of the site. This would include, but is not limited to: picking up trash; sanitizing equipment such as tables, chairs, Zumro operations and supplies tents, and other equipment.

  • Assisting with deployment and breakdown of Zumro tents and other equipment.

  • Performs various off-site tasks that may include but are not limited to: picking up meals and ice; taking refuse to the Convenience Center; picking up and/or delivering supplies from main office to HONU site.

  • Schedule routine inventory/replenishment of supplies (cleaning, hygiene, donated goods, operational equipment, etc.)

  • Light groundskeeping (grass trimming) maintenance of the site to keep up aesthetic appearances.

Flexibility to relocate every 4-6 months on island is required for this position.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Training and Experience: A combination of education and experience substantially

equivalent to graduation from high school and two years of experience which shall have

involved providing information, referral, and/or outreach to the public. Such experience must have

included answering questions and inquiries, and explaining policies, rules, processes, and

procedures in person or by telephone.

License Requirement: Possession of a valid appropriate Driver’s License
