UNFINISHED BUSINESS ( * indicates for action) 6.1 * Proposed Ala Wai Dog Park – Shaunna Tabor Action to be taken upon multiple resolutions from previous meetings. Comments will be limited to one person on each resolution as per neighborhood request. 6.2 * Newsletter – Ron Lockwood Review of material previously submitted by J. Gollner. Meeting with R. Lockwood and A. Furuto to review rough draft for presentation at tonight's meeting NOT held, as material wasn't found by A. Furuto. 6.3 * Affordable Housing/Homeless Resolution – Betty Lou Larson 6.4 * Sub-District Boundary Re-alignment – Gordon Furuto Sub-District Boundary Committee's report to the Board for action/approval. 6.5 University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) Update – Ron Lockwood UH-Manoa action on issue and status. 7. NEW BUSINESS 7.1 Boys & Girls Club – Spaulding Clubhouse – Ron Lockwood Director L. Mahoe and Program Director D. Park have resigned as of Friday, December 30. No replacements have been named as of deadline. Impact of club reducing hours/service upon community unknown at this time. 7.2 New Affordable Housing Apartments for Fern Street/Kalakaua Avenue Up to 120 studio and one-bedroom units proposed for this corner, next to Makiki Stream. Impact on parking, etc., not known at this time. Outreach Committee needs to "talk story" with neighbors, BEFORE this issue formally comes before this Board. 7.3 Charter Commission – Ron Lockwood and Clifton Takamura Is looking at 99 proposals to change the City Charter, with over 15 proposals looking at Neighborhood Board changes. These can be viewed at www.co.honolulu.hi.us/chc/proposals.htm. 7.4 Oahu Metropolitan Planning Organization (OMPO) – Ron Lockwood The FY 2004-2006 Transportation Improvement Program Status is available. There are NO projects that directly impacts our neighborhood. Please see www.OahuMPO.org for details. 7.5 * KNDI Resolution – Ron Lockwood Support for KNDI for 45 years of radio programming for our immigrant communities. KNDI is located on the mauka side of South King Street and between Washington Middle School and Zippy's. 8. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – September 1, October 6, and November 3, 2005 Minutes 9. TREASURER'S REPORT(S) 10. COMMITTEE REPORTS 10.1 Affordable Housing / Homeless – Betty Lou Larson Minutes of November 9, 2005 meeting will be distributed at meeting to Board members. 10.2 Legislative Affairs – Clifton Takamura Minutes of November 16, 2005 meeting will be distributed at meeting to Board members. 10.3 Outreach – John Gollner Minutes of October 4, 2005 meeting pending. 10.4 Planning and Zoning – Ron Lockwood Deferred to hold Dog Park Committee meeting on December 1, 2005. 10.5 Public Safety – Albert Furuto No meeting scheduled. 10.6 Sub-District Boundary – Ron Lockwood See 6.4 above. 10.7 Dog Park (Temporary/Special Committee) – Ron Lockwood Minutes of December 1, 2005 included in mailout to Board members. 11. ANNOUNCEMENTS 11.1 Bulky Item Pick-Up – Third week of the month. See www.opala.org for details. 11.2 Veterans of Foreign Wars – Meet every first Wednesday (next meeting is February 1, 2006) at 6:30 p.m. at the Sacred Hearts School. Call Chair Lockwood for details (955-1986). 11.3 Further Comments on Mass Transit Alternatives – Residents may give comments on purpose, needs and alternatives of project until January 9, 2006.
