UNFINISHED BUSINESS ( * indicates for action) *6.1 Newsletter – John Gollner Latest version for review, corrections, additions and action. *6.2 University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) Update – Ron Lockwood Report on January 20th Board of Regents presentation and action for and against by Resolution. *6.3 McCully-Moiliili N.B.#08 Amended Petition for Change in Seats and Sub-Districts – Ron Lockwood Action needed by the Board to forward the amended petition to the Neighborhood Commission, so the required public hearing can be held within our neighborhood. 6.4 Boys & Girls Club – Ron Lockwood Clubhouse Director position still vacant. Reduced hours of operation are affecting our neighborhood, as one fight has happened at Washington Middle School (Jan. 24) with 40+ individuals. 6.5 New Building at 1700 Kalakaua Avenue – Ron Lockwood Owners and representatives have been invited to our March, April or May meeting to present their project to the neighborhood. Concerns of neighbors were expressed in the Outreach Committee meeting (see comm. report). This is a 120-unit project. 6.6 Charter Commission Update – Clifton Takamura The Charter Commission held 3 meetings in January to take action on 99 proposals (including 15 pertaining at Neighborhood Boards that will go to voters in November if approved by this body. 6.7 Bowl-O-Drome – Ron Lockwood Site is for rent/lease for 25-65 years with a minimum rent of $626,000 per year to start. See the January 5th Honolulu Advertiser article for further details. There are NO projects that directly impact our neighborhood. Please see www.OahuMPO.org for details. 7. NEW BUSINESS *7.1 Resolution to Support Affordable Housing – Betty Lou Larson *7.2 HPD Legislation – Clifton Takamura 7.2.1 Unauthorized Entry (SB 201/HB 312) 7.2.2 Theft/Stolen Property (SB 697/HB 318) 7.2.3 Pawnbrokers (SB 602/HB 314) 7.2.4 Subpoenas (SB 604/HB 315) 7.2.5 Traffic (SB 430/HB 152) 7.2.6 Firearms/Ammunition (no Bill #) – Refers to the .50 Browning Machine Gun and ammunition. No transfer of ownership of importation into Oahu. 7.2.7 Traffic (no Bill #) – Refers to requiring helmets for moped drivers and passengers. 7.3 Citizen Advisory Committee of OMPO Meeting – Ron Lockwood Wednesday, February 15, at 5 p.m., in Rooms 319A/B of the Hawaii Convention Center. Parking will be validated. Public comments on presentation of Oahu Regional Transportation Plan. *7.4 Resolution to Ask State Legislators to Impeach the President – Ron Lockwood (for a neighbor) For high crimes and misdemeanors by President Bush to direct unauthorized surveillance of U.S. citizens without the required court approval. 7.5 Formation of New Committee – School Liaison Committee Will be chaired by Shaunna Tabor. Members include (but aren't limited to) Rodney Evans and Ron Lockwood. 8. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – September 1, 2005 and January 5, 2006 Minutes 9. TREASURER'S REPORT 10. Will take up 1700 Kalakaua project in February at a date to be determined. 10.5 Public Safety – Albert Furuto No meeting scheduled. 10.6 Sub-District Boundary – Ron Lockwood Work should be completed and will dissolve upon acceptance by the Neighborhood Commission. 10.7 Dog Park (Temporary/Special Committee) – Ron Lockwood Committee is now in recess, subject to recall. 10.8 School Liaison – Shaunna Tabor 11.
