Installation of new Civil Defense siren for Lanikai, Norman Ogasawara, State Civil Defense, Asst. Telecommunications Officer, 10 min VII. BOARD ACTIONS 8:40 -9:30 P.M. Transportation and Public Safety 1. The KNB requests that the City and County increase the number of parking spaces by 10 to be assigned to residents at the Lani Huli Elderly Housing project. 2. The KNB supports Pearl City Neighborhood Board No. 21 in its concern “that DTS contact and adequately notify all Neighborhood Boards of changes to bus scheduling and route alignment modifications 45 days prior to the effective date of these proposals for input and response to these amendments”. Executive Committee: 3. Motion: Use $2,000.00 of KNB annual budget to fund 10 meetings at $200.00 per meeting for broadcast on Olelo for the fiscal year July 2006 – June 2007. 4. Motion: Recess KNB on July 6, 2006 and January 4, 2007. 5. Motion: Rename Parks and Recreation Committee to Parks and Public Works Committee. 6. Motion: Use up to $200.00 to purchase and install a transmitter and 2 headsets to facilitate wireless communication for the hearing impaired. Parks and Recreation Committee: 7. The Kailua Neighborhood Board recommends that the City and County of Honolulu prohibit commercial activities at Kailua Beach Park except for filming and the snack bar. Especially important to prohibit are: a. kayak rentals, instruction and tours b. windsurfing rentals and instruction c. surfboard rentals, instruction and tours d. bouncers and carnival rides e. boogie board rentals and instruction f. weddings g. scuba rentals and instruction h. delivery of rented equipment 8. The Kailua Neighborhood Board recommends that the City and County of Honolulu prohibit kite boards at Kailua Beach Park. Government and Community Services Committee: 9. Motion: The KNB requests an independent financial audit of the BWS prior to the implementation of rate increases. Planning, Zoning and the Environment: 10.
