2. Establish a standing Committee on Sustainability to include issues relating to density limits, infrastructure capacity, growth policy, tourism, etc.
B. Parks and Recreation Committee:
Kailua Neighborhood Board, December 7, 2006 RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, the Kailua Neighborhood Board has received numerous complaints concerning commercial buses in the vicinity of Kailua Beach Park and in the Lanikai Community; and
WHEREAS, commercial buses have a negative impact upon the quality of life in residential communities;
WHEREAS, there are no commercial bus destinations east of the Kalaheo Avenue/ Kailua Road intersection (fronting Kalapawai Market); and
WHEREAS, there are no parking areas for commercial buses east of this intersection; and
WHEREAS, there are no adequate turn-around areas for commercial buses east of this intersection; and
WHEREAS, the area east of this intersection is characterized by narrow streets without improved sidewalks;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kailua Neighborhood Board requests that the City and County of Honolulu take action to prohibit commercial buses from entering the area east of the Kalaheo Avenue/Kailua Road intersection, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to Mayor Mufi Hannemann, Councilmember Barbara Marshall, and the Director of the Department of Transportation Services.

Request Funding legislation for TMDL (Total Maximum Daily Load) as relates to State Department of Health (DOH) discussion and action

The Kailua Neighborhood Board supports the Neighborhood Plan 2006 as submitted to the
