The parade is sponsored by Hawaiian Electric, Friends of Honolulu City Lights and the City and County of Honolulu. It begins at Aala Park and travels to Honolulu Hale via King Street. Kakaako kids, Brickwood Galuteria and Emme Tomimbang will host this annual spectacle featuring 30 intricately decorated floats, city vehicles and 15 bands as they march past Honolulu Hale. Among the city vehicles is the “Zoo Choo Express,” the new Honolulu Zoo train, carrying Lani Moo and Kawika Moo, Taylor Wu, 2003 Healthy Baby, and city employees’ kids. The parade and highlights of other opening night activities will be broadcast live on Olelo Channel 54. Noted for their high energy and acappella virtuosity, these young men grew up and entertained together then went separate ways after graduating from high school. Last year, for various reasons, they all came back to Hawaii, came together as Five by 5 and released their first CD appropriately titled “Coming Home.
